Country music fans were shocked when Blake Shelton, known for his friendship with the late Toby Keith, announced he’ll be headlining a tribute event in memory of his recently departed friend. However, tensions arose when Taylor Swift, ever eager for the spotlight, attempted to insert herself into the event.
Shelton was quick to shut down Swift’s attempt to join the tribute, stating, “I told her to step back. This isn’t about you, Taylor. I won’t let her steal the spotlight from me headlining this tribute. It’s not going to be the Tay Tay show.”
Swift, when asked for a response, deflected the question, pointing out that only Gen Xers refer to her as Tay Tay, alluding to a moment on Lip Sync Battle with The Rock.
Shelton, undeterred, emphasized that Swift should keep her distance. “I earned this headlining spot fair and square. I had to wrestle George Strait and Lee Greenwood, and play nude checkers with Hank Williams Jr. I won’t let Miss Priss come in and spoil my big day.”
Entertainment specialist Tara Newhole confirmed Taylor Swift’s long legs but added, “She’s also great in heels, not an easy feat when you’re nine feet tall.”
Regardless of height, Swift will not be part of the fictional Blake Shelton tribute to Toby Keith, an event eagerly anticipated by fans hoping to boot Garth Brooks from the limelight.
